 no matter what right? Hmm, how bout a flat tire on I 95 N? I am still laughing about that. I work or a roadside service company. I knew what to expect. I was pleasantly surprized to have a very nice tow truck operator come to my rescue. He was very friend, efficent, and we conversed all the way to Brunwick GA. He even convinced me to give the Garmin/gps machines a try. Frankly I think people are dummer with the GPS. They have no idea what freeway they are traveling, what direction, have no idea what the last exit was they just passed. I mean when I have been in the car with someone that has one, normally they are okay for the first 10min or so, then they start telling you to turn around, or that your driving in water when your on land? Baffling? I dont get the need. What I do appreciate... having AAA when i broke down. If your not a member, then join! I paid absolutely nothing for my 70 mile tow from Jacksonville to my next destination, and I had up to 200 miles if i had needed them. Definitely worth the yearly fee!

august 1... its finally here!

We are in Jacksonville! I cannot believe our trip has finally started. We left Orlando at 12pm. We had a little snag with an accident on I 4 E, but other than that it was smooth sailing. We our at my moms friends house June & Roy. We have so many people to see while we are here. People I went to school with, people that I grew up with and lived near. Jacquez wants to see my old house on Rover Dr. Ah, the memories. I loved that house. If it was for sale I would go buy it right now. Funny, I would buy the house, but, I dont want to live in Jacksonville either really.  We have pictures I have to upload of use leaving Orange county, and arriving in DUVAL! We are going to Metro Diner for breakfast either tomorrow or Wednesday. Thats the restaurant from Diners Drive-In's & Dives. I cannot wait. I hear they have a fantastic breakfast.

I have today off, but I will have to work tomorrow. Will let you know how my first day of work on the road goes...sigh!

This is a picture of our room I reserved for Jacquez's birthday when we are in Canada.  Can you believe this view? Okay, I know I keep saying that I am so excited. But wouldnt you be? I think my excitment is doubled because this will be my sons first trip to Canada. I mean mine too, but I cannot wait to share this experience with him. I had so many great experiences with my mother. I want him to have the same great memories.

20 DAYS AND COUNTING...

My son just told me today that he cannot wait to leave. Its funny because I really thought that I was the only one excited about this trip. But as much as I talk about it, i think hes jumping on my excitement bandwagon so to speak. I know hes excited about Canada, hes been talking about going there for the last year. But, since hes is also going to apprentice with my cousin to be a mechanic. I think he's getting really excited about learing how to fix car's etc. I gotta find another word other than excited to use....

none of these sound right... maybe delighted? roflmao!  yes i looked it up! Can i just say Frantic  sounds more crazy than excited. My best friend is getting on the road too, strangely enough on the same day. But i can tell you that she is NOT excited more like unenthused about going. I don't blame her, if I had been traveling as much as she has been I would probably dread doing anymore.

I'm getting my car checking on Wednesday. I found this great please that does free checkup, top off fluids, etc. I know I need windshield wipers. It rained the other day, and they squeaked so bad I wanted to jump out of the car while it was moving.

I just sawing Diners Drive'n's & Dives. I saw one in Jacksonville Fl. So we are going to see how many of them we can hit will we travel. That is gonna be so much fun. Who doenst like to eat good food.! I live to eat baby, not eat to live! Life is meant to be enjoyed. Enjoy it while you can!

I AM AMAZED!

I am so surprised by all the people who are so happy I am going on this trip and wishing they could go! Who knew! I mean this is not something I've always wanted to do, although I do love to travel. It's more like an opportunity and I never pass up an opportunity. Its a lesson I learned a long time ago. I read a book called Richdad /Poordad. What I got from the book was that so many people live to work, instead of working to live. They never have a plan. They work at a job just to work, no thought of 5 or 10 years down the line. Where do you wanna be in life? What do you wanna be? He also says that opportunities come and we dont see them right before our eyes. Here's and interesting fact, I was just watching that Ice T show he was giving a speech. He said "people complain about their lives, they want this, they want that, and opportunities come but they cannot see them because they are too busy complaining. If you want things to happen for you then YOU have to take the opportunity when it comes!" DING! This was just a couple of days ago. I felt like he was saying, "hey dont question your decision to go...go!This is an opportunity that many people never have, so go!"  Believe me when I tell you I wasnt debating anything. But, it seems like everyone thinks its a good idea, no a great idea! 

I have to take pictures of the picture case that  I bought from office depot. Its so great. It holds like 6 small cases inside which hold 100 pictures. So the whole cas holds 600, its so great. I have baby pictures of my son in one, then in the other pictures of our family including my moms trips to Hawaii and Jamaica. I got my AAA premier service signed up and ready to go. I am going to get an oil change, check all the fluids I think next week. I know I have a spare tire, but I am gonna have them check that as well.

Oh did I tell you about the great hotel I found in Niagra falls? I will, but gotta get pictures of it first!

LIST LIST AND MORE LIST'S....

I am a list maker. I keep track of everything.  I am trying to make sure I have everything we need to travel. I am signing up for AAA before I leave, It includes trip interruption, and some great travel coverage.  I know i have a spare, need to see if I have a jack. (not that I know how to change a tire..ugh!) I wanna take pictures with me for the family to see how my son has grown, some have never seen his baby pictures. I made some picture books that I want to take of my mom and her best friends. I looked on the Container Store for some water proof boxes. I found a really reasonable container that holds 6 individual containers for pictures. I was looking for another medium size storage bin to put in the truck. I think we need a cooler. I have three suit cases, 1 for me, 1 for my son with our like summer clothes, then 1 suit case for both of us with winter clothes.  I have two laptops to take, with chargers and cords, and I need to get cases or travel bags for them.  I have my work phone with my headset that I need to take as well.  I am a master couponer, so I have to take my coupons, plus my box of inserts. I don't buy anything without a coupon! I have my teas that I have to bring with me, hard to find teas that I cannot just pick up in the grocery store. My coconut oil that I cook with, because yes I will be cooking. We will only be able to eat out occassionally. We will do what we do at home find resturants that offer kids eat free meals. Many of them offer at least one day a week. Alehouse, Chillis, Ihop, Dennys, Perkins. Oh, my jewely making stuff. I make my own jewlery. I have two cases full of stuff. My aunt in NC makes jewelry too so I want her to see all the stuff mom and I had.

I'm working mad hours to make sure all the bills are paid before I leave. I will still have to work while I am traveling but since my hours area flexible I can work whenever I need. I am so excited...
